Trench 2

As-salamu alaykum! Our third day of excavation is over… our project for this year is to understand better the nature of the building discovered in the southern area (Area 1) and to restart the diggings in the northern trench (Trench 2), which was left over during the second campaign.

In order to do this, we opened a wide area in the south of 750 m2 and another of 200 m2 in the north. Now we are scraping the top salty crust, hoping to highlight new structures and contexts. But, as always, Abu Tbeirah reveals itself immediately under the surface…

As-salamu alaykum! Il nostro terzo giorno di scavo è finito … il nostro progetto per quest’anno è quello di comprendere meglio la natura dell’edificio scoperto nella zona sud (Area 1) e ricominciare gli scavi nella trincea nord (Trench 2), che erano rimasti sospesi durante la seconda campagna.
